Some Patch Puppy inspiration from Dressy Girl Carolyn

A little inspiration for you from All Dressed UP
Who wants to curl up with a cute and cuddly critter?

This cute little digi stamp, "Little Patch Puppy" is so precious! I love the little "patches"
and flowers that are worked into the stamp. The little sewing details around the edges is
such a great way to add texture and dimension with darker coloring to highlight the attention
to detail in the character.  Thanks for stopping by to check out All Dressed UP and the DTs
inspiration projects. Don't forget to join in one our challenges!

A Blue Autumn from Dressy Girl Lizzy

Hello, my name is Lizzy and I am very proud to present my first inspiration post for All Dressed Up.  She is one of the little Autumn girls by the ever talented Wendy Burns, which you can find here!
I have used the Kaisercraft paper pad called Forget me not as my colour inspiration.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the two cards required to make this design, the design number from the Silhouette store is 12035, flower branch card.
It got a little complicated when I wanted to apply my coloured digi to the card, it was too big!  I had coloured her on holiday, and hadn't figured out what design I was going to use, when I cut the flower card I was limited to how big the card would cut, and as it happens the finished card is about 8x8. So I scanned the coloured digi, resized it and flipped it so it faced a different way.... it suited this design. I used my Silhouette software to do this, but any software that allows these changes are fine, I just was being lazy and got the Silhouette to cut it out too!!
Anyway here is my finished design, I hope you like it and give it a go!
 More pictures can be found on my blog lizzydoodles. Have a lovely day xxxx

Pretty in purple, some inspiration from Dressy Girl Christine

Hi everyone and Happy Monday :)  I'm so excited to be posting today as this is my first post as a Dressy Girl DT member! :)  Here's my card:

For my card today, I just had to color up this adorable image from All Dressed Up Digi Stamps.  This particular image is one of the Three Little Autumn Girls and she was so much fun to color.  I of course colored her up with my copics.  My DP is from Cosmo Cricket.  The die cut was made from a Memory Box die.  The sentiment is from Pink By Design.  What do you think?  Well, I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks so much as always for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day :)

Hugs, Christine

Fab Circular Stepper Card Tutorial from Dressy Girl Lyndsey..

Hi all,

Its Lyndsey here and I am very excited to be here today with my first post on the All Dressed Up Blog.

I love making different shaped cards and the wow factor they give, so I thought each month on my posting day I would give you a little tutorial on one of these cards.

Today I am going to give you a little step by step guide on making this fabby Circular Stepper Card.

I have used the gorgeous image Party Girl 3 from Three little Party Girls
All Dressed Up, Three Little Party Girls
Not only do you get this fabulous little group of friends you also get each girl as an individual image too bonus!!!

Ok then - so to start with you will need the following
--------------------------------------
7" Circle Die or Circle shape to cut around
Three Little Party Girls digi image (obviously)
Promakers (colours listed below)
Spellbinders Fancy Oval Die & Plain Oval Die
Pretty Papers
Flowers, Ribbon, Pearls
-----------------------------------------

Step 1 - Die Cut or cut out your Circle Shape ( I have used a Grand Nestie which is approx 7" or you can use a Dinner Plate etc of a similar size)

 Step 2 - Place your circle on your cutting mat & measure across 10.5cm from Left - Right on your circle and draw a vertical feint line

You will score your steps on the RH side -which will be on the LH side when the card is folded

Step 3 - Scoring between the 10.5cm line & the RH edge score lines at the following measurements
3.5cm, 5cm, 6.5cm, 8cm & 11.5cm

Step 4 - Scoring from the LH side to the 10.5cm line score a line across at 8.5cm

Step 5 - Split the circle open by cutting along the vertical line between the 3.5cm & 11.5cm score lines

Step 6 - Fold your card into shape with Mountain & Valley folds as shown
(if at this point you would like your steps to be on the opposite side instead - fold your score lines the opposite to shown - ie a valley would be a mountain)

Step 7 - Trim off the excess steps that overhang the circle

Step 8 - Cover the front of the card & steps with patterned paper
(I have used First Edition papers - New Bloom)

Step 9 - Print & colour your image, cut out using a Plain Oval Die
Step 10 - Die Cut the Fancy Oval from coloured card - Mat your image onto this
----------------------------------
Promarkers used to colour the image as follows

Skin - Burnt Orange, Coral, Soft Peach, Oatmeal, Blush
Hair - Black, Cool Grey 5,4,3 & 1
Skirt - Plum, Purple, Amethyst, Orchid
Top - Petrol Blue, Turquoise, Marine, Cool Aqua
-------------------------------------

Step 11- Add the image to the RH side of your card using foam pads

Step 12 - Decorate the rest of the card using flowers & embellishments to suit
(make sure that your card weight is balanced and not too heavy on one side or your card will lean)

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial today, please do keep popping back and checking out all the fabulous inspiration and tutorials from my very talented team mates.

Grounding images & colouring grass tutorial from Dressy Girl Trudie.

Good Morning fellow crafters!
 Today I am answering a Facebook query posted by Lyndsey Turner who asked about grounding images and colouring grass.
I have used one of the Three Little Autumn Girls that can be found HERE for tutorial.  I hope you find it useful.  This is my first tutorial of this type so any pointers or if I have missed anything please feel free to comment and ask further questions.  I will try to help as best I can.
This tutorial is based on what I do when colouring, there are various different things you can do but these are my methods!
xx
(all colouring is done with Copics)
~~~~~
Grounding
First finish colouring your selected image.
I then used C4 to colour a direct shadow underneath her feet, then C2 and C0 blended out so the shadow appears lighter.
This looks pretty simple but it certainly makes her look like she is standing on something rather than floating on the page.
~~~~~

Colouring Grass

Again start by colouring your image.

For the sand/ground I have used a mixture of  'E' colours and some W4.

The first colour I applied was E55. Start by scribbling some small areas.

The next colour was W4, and I did the same again to begin filling in the gaps.

Then I used E23, E29 and E35.  These can be used in any order and any combination.

Now we start on the grass.  I used YG97 and holding the pen vertical and lightly against the paper use a small flicking motion upwards.   This will give the illusion of a thicker stalk nearer the ground and then tapering off to complete the blade.

I then did the same using the YG67.

And then finished the grass off with the G24.

The grass looks much more realistic and effective done like this, in smaller blades or clumps rather than colouring a large area.  You will notice that the blades go over the boots and the soil.  This helps to ground her.  I finished off the image by using the W4 directly under her feet just to add a little more depth.

I hope you have found this helpful.  These are really the first stages we can go into more detail by adding flowers etc another time.

Don't forget to join our FB fan page and leave your questions for myself and Lisa Horton to TRY (!) and answer!!

Have fun......
