Abi inspiration from Dressy Girl Carolyn

Hey Dressy peps! It's Monday the 30th and that means a little
inspiration from me.
It's -3 degrees here in Minnesota (USA to those of you across the pond from me) and I am
ready for a little spring.  This cutie of a stamp: Abi Ballerina is one of my favorites and
I couldn't resist combining her with a little sheet music for the background paper. I colored her up using Copics and added a few little flowers, trying to keep the image the main focus.  I hope you
like my little inspiration. I hope you join us for our challenges, I love seeing all
the creative and beautiful projects you come up with!

Fairy Magic from Dressy Girl Kat

Hello and a very Merry Christmas to you all!

It's Kat here today to share a card using the absolutely beautiful Fairy Magic, which I realise is a bit of a tease since she isn't in the store :-(  She's too pretty not to share with you though!

I have kept things simple here with some layers of lovely yellow and black DP and a few pearls to embellish. She is coloured with Copics and I used some DP to paper piece her wings for a cute finish.  You can find all the details on my blog.

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones and that Santa brought you some lovely new crafty stash :-)

Hugs, Kat xx

Merry Christmas from Dressy Girl Marilyn

Merry Christmas!  Marilyn here and today is my day to post my inspiration card for All Dressed Up.  Since I was lucky enough to get Christmas Day for my post, I would like to tell you my wish for you is to have a wonderful holiday season and I wish you a happy, prosperous and peace-filled 2014.
To the card... this is Happy Christmas Little Star and available in the All Dressed Up Etsy Store.  I love this cute little gal but I wanted to make it more of a birthday card than Christmas (I am Christmas carded out!) so I removed the star/sentiment and her wings.  You can find more details over at my blog.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...Dressy Girl Christine inspiration.

Hi Ladies

Christine here today - and I decided that as we hadn't had any snow yet in real life (phew!), I needed to do a card showing some of the sparkly white stuff, so my creation showcases the fabulous 'It's Snowing' digi image ..... and as this little snowman is soooo darn easy to colour  ...  I decided to decoupage him too!  All I did was print him three times...  then diecut the first image with a square.  Then I fussy cut his body to layer... and lastly fussy cut another scarf, hat, robin and nose..  but I lost the nose before I got it onto the card!  Lesson learnt there for me...  to have a tidy desk when I decoupage!  So I resorted to Glossy Accents for his nose, and for his coal buttons too.  After I'd coloured the image (using Cool Gray Copic 1 and 3 on the white snow to give it some shade), I used sticky foam pads to layer up to give him lots of depth...  then added a Spellbinders Square Fleur De Lys behind the image shape.   I sponged a pale blue around the image while the square nestie was still in place to give me that white border.

And of course, no snowman would be complete without glitter to show the sparkles....  so I used my glue pen and sprinkled loads of it!!  The paper was one that I've had in for years... and the snowflake charm too... so all I needed to do was add the bow and the card was done.

Hope I've given you a different way to use a digi image today...  to actually make it 'pop off the page'.  Now why don't you get yourself over to All Dressed Up and bag a snowman today to give it a go..  And if you need to know more about what I did... pop over to my blog - http://cardsbychristine.blogspot.co.uk/ - and give me a shout.... I'll be there!  There are also some YouTube tutorials there so you can see how I do the shading.

Thanks for visiting All Dressed Up today..

Red Blonde Hair Tutorial from Dressy Girl Lisa

Good evening everyone!
As part of the ADU Design Team I have been asked to create some colouring tutorials.
I thought this time I would concentrate on the decidedly difficult blonde hair. I know we all have a limited palette of colours available to us so here is a tutorial which covers blonde and a variation on a "redhead".
Here I started with a new ADU image that was created for my gorgeous daughter.  She has two cuddly toys, "Winnie" and "Tony" and you can see them cuddled tighly in her arms.  A massive thank you to the wonderful Artist, Wendy Burns.

I always start with a minium of 3 pens.
Here ae my choices:

I start with the lightest colour first, and build up my colour.
It's easier to add colour than it is to take it away!
I apply the next colour over the top of the first, starting at the ends, heading into the centre, but leaving a little white area which will become the highlight/shine.
 Continue adding colour.
You can see I am using less of the darker colours and not colouring as far as the previous colour.
Go back over the whole image with the lighter colour to give a seamless blend.
Here is my gorgeous girl, completed.
I hope you can see the amazing shine on the hair.
Hugs.
Lisa xxxxx
